I’m going to be a yoga instructor
After a lot of thought and consideration I have decided to try and become a certified yoga instructor. I’ve taken yoga classes on and off for the past seven years, often taking breaks when I prefer running as my activity of choice. In fact, the past three weeks I’ve been running more aggressively, and I actually lost seven pounds (ALCOHOL!), but I want to incorporate a more holistic and well-rounded physical routine into my daily life and feel that yoga will do the trick.
My preference has always been Hatha yoga, because it focuses primarily on breathing and meditation techniques, and for someone like me who has a lot of anxiety, it proves to be rather useful. I also enjoy Hot Ashtanga yoga in a controlled room of about 41 degrees Celsius.
Lisa is currently taking yoga teacher training and it has had a positive impact on her mind and body. She has sent me some links to aid in my research and I believe that I have selected the right school for me. However, before I apply, I’m going to spend the next six months taking classes more earnestly before I commit to such an extensive program. At $3,000 it’s not cheap either, so it can’t be an impulse decision.
I’m well aware that it won’t be easy and I have a lot to learn about yoga in general, but I want to commit myself to something that takes me away from the confines of a desk job, and considering that I enjoy yoga so much, why not let it guide me into a brighter future?
Namaste!

I possess great compassion and seek to be of service to others.
Go Franco! This is awesome. I can’t wait to hear more about the process.
Thanks, it’s a very long process!
Congratulations and good luck on your voyage. My girlfriend was just certified as a yoga instructor. She says it was the best decision she has ever made. Have fun.
Thanks, it will be a nice part-time hobby.
Doesn’t running make your hamstrings tight? I’ve always blamed my running for my inability to touch my toes or do a good downward dog. If you can do both, you’re awesome. Speaking of – I nominated you for a Liebster Award – see http://janellenferrigan.com/ I’m not sure exactly what it means, but I enjoy your blog – cheers and hope the link sends some more people over to your posts.
Thanks for the nomination, although I only do this blog as a hobby and not to increase traffic or win awards. And funnily enough my yoga class tonight focused on legs, and my hamstrings killed during some of the exercises. Thanks for reading, I’m glad you like my blog. I really like doing it.
Good luck. I’m trying to figure out how I can return to yoga with a new baby. I’m jealous!
Bring the baby along!
