Take This Waltz is fabulous
I’ve written about Take This Waltz before, but I actually went to watch it this afternoon, alone. Me, myself and I. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I knew that I would, considering that it’s the second full length feature film from Sarah Polley who wrote and also directed one of my favourite movies of all time, Away From Her, which was based on the short story by Alice Munro called The Bear Came Over the Mountain.
Anyway, Take This Waltz is about a married woman who begins an emotional affair with her neighbour who lives across the street. She’s not a sympathetic character, or even a likeable person, but she is real, and represents the emotional challenges many people in long-term relationships experience.
The film takes place over the summer months in Toronto and the cinematography is gorgeous, fully embracing a love affair with this wonderful city I’m lucky enough to call home.
If you have two hours to spare, I suggest you watch this movie. For the nudity alone.

I possess great compassion and seek to be of service to others.
