The evolution of Patty Hewes
The fifth and final season of Damages premiers on July 11 on DirecTV’s Audience Network. To my estimation, Patty Hewes, performed by the venerable Glenn Close, is the best character written in the history of television and film. She exists completely independent of male characters, a rarity in celluloid.
For those who are unfamiliar, Damages is a television show that revolves around the ruthless lawyer — and anti-hero — Patty Hewes, and her protege, Ellen Parsons who she shares a complex relationship with. Each season features a new case that unravels from the end to the beginning. Confused about what I mean? That’s part of the fun.
In anticipation for the finale, I dug up this video that appears on the bonus features section of the season 4 DVD. Watch it, get into the show, and join the club!
That’s the last post for today. I’m now going to drink a bottle of red wine and pass out on the cold hard floor.

I possess great compassion and seek to be of service to others.
One of my favorite programs.
It’s well done, one of the best, and most underrated shows around.
