Rude comment
Is this the face of a woman hater?
My lesson today was on global role models. Somehow we started talking about fashion designers when my student confessed that she believed gay men hated women. I asked her why she felt this way and she responded by saying that gay men are secretly jealous of women and want to be them. I let this comment slide and returned to my planned lesson when she had one more confession: she doesn’t like black people.
So in the future I think I’m going to retire my global role models lesson and stick to the book. I don’t need to know my students’ prejudices. I really don’t.
