BEWARE: No alcohol on election day!
Attention tourists in Argentina. Today is election day and you can’t buy alcohol!
Insane! The night before the election and during Election Day no alcohol can be sold. In addition parties and public events are banned. The only places that are open are restaurants (no alcohol there either) and some of the cinema chains have a shorter schedule while others will open following their regular working hours. Most shops will probably remain closed.
Apparently this law exits in other Latin American countries and it’s not all that surprising when you consider how fanatical Argentines get over politics. No one wants to add alcohol to the mix.
But let’s think about me first. How am I going to get through the day? HOOOOOWW!?
